Our Packaging

Our packaging is made up of a new generation of bio-based flexible packaging film made of PLA (Poly Lactic Acid). PLA is obtained from corn or other starch/sugar sources.

Thanks to the bio-based content and the lower consumption of energy, PLA delivers a lower carbon footprint and additional end of life options compared to most oil-based plastics. This film has achieved the four-star OK Bio-based certificate from TÜV AUSTRIA and is approved for industrial composting according to EN 13432 standards.

What Are Bioplastics?

As consumer demand for sustainable products grows, bioplastics, which can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and decrease greenhouse emissions, are becoming more prevalent.

Bioplastics can be broken down into three categories:

• Non-biodegradable and fully or partially bio-based (.g., bio-based PET or bio-based PE products)
• Bio-degradable and petroleum-based (e.g., PBAT or PCL)
• Both bio-degradable and fully bio-based (e.g., PLA)

We are extremely proud to be operating in the sweet spot, i.e., PLA and enabling all our customers to make smarter purchasing decisions.
